Leadership

Rob is a Certified Value Specialist, Project Management Professional and Risk Management Professional with over 30 years experience.

He has led over 500 value studies for clients in both the private and public sectors.

Rob has been heavily involved in the development of software-based applications related to the application of the Value Methodology, Risk Management, and Decision Support.

Rob has written three books on risk and value management and has taught courses & lectures at PSU, UC-B and CAU-Korea.

Robert B. Stewart
President / CEO

Terry is the founder of VMS. With over 40 years of experience he leads training seminars and workshops for government, municipal and industrial clients.

He has conducted over 120 value management training workshops and trained over 10,000 people in a wide variety of industries.

Terry wrote the chapter on value engineering for Maynard’s Industrial Engineering Handbook – Fourth Edition (McGraw-Hill, 1992).

He has also published multiple papers on value engineering and written training manuals that cover construction projects, product designs, manufacturing processes and administrative systems and procedures.

Chairman / CFO / COO

Greg is a Certified Value Specialist, Risk Management Professional, Project Management Professional, Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst, Professional in Business Analysis and Envision Sustainability Professional.

Greg has over 15 years experience in project delivery performing risk analysis, risk management, financial and life-cycle costing analysis.

He consults on infrastructure and vertical construction projects, programs and portfolios of varying scale and scope.

Greg is an industry-recognized expert with deep knowledge and hands-on experience in capital project delivery. He also has extensive knowledge on operations research, project and program management, value engineering and optimization.

Ethan has 20 years of experiences as a software engineer and five years in technical leadership.

He has written two books on software development for O’Reilly Media and has spoken at Node Interactive and OSCON.

Prior to joining VMS in a technical leadership role, Ethan spent several years developing Value Engineering facilitation software for VMS on a contract basis.

Ashley’s 15 years of experience includes working on military complexes, shipyards and wharves, hangars, water and wastewater facilities, hospitals, bridges and other transportation projects, housing developments, utilities and infrastructure projects and both K-12 and higher educational facilities.

In recent years, Ashley has been actively working with clients in analyzing their organizations and optimizing their effectiveness.

Eric has facilitated over 150 value management, process improvement and design charrette workshops during his years with VMS.

Prior to joining VMS, Inc., Eric worked for eight years as a Credit Relationship Portfolio Manager.

Eric started his career with CVS, Inc., a value engineering consulting firm in Portland, Oregon.

Cheryl manages VMS’s day-to-day business operations, overseeing staff to ensure organizational needs are met.

Her duties include Contract Management, Financial Management and Human Resources Management.

Cheryl has over 25 years of expereience and is also responsible for maintaining corporate records. She serves as VMS’s Facility Security Officer.

Doug has more than 30 years of total cost management, professional estimating and project consulting experience.

He has been responsible for the preparation, review, and validation of conceptual and detailed estimates for domestic and international capital projects ranging from $200,000 to over $10 billion in size.

He specializes in capital projects of strategic importance, utilizing new technologies and those involved in the use of parametric estimating methodologies.

Doug Leo
Director of Cost Estimating

Eric has nearly 20 years of experience in the construction consulting field, including roles in risk management, project management, cost management, scheduling, estimating, and project oversight.

He has worked on various projects across the country, including infrastructure, government, financial, pharmaceutical, hospitality, residential, retail, and academic sectors.

Eric is a Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) certified through the Project Management Institute. He is currently serving on the CMAA (Construction Management Association of America) sub-committee for risk management.

Eric Ho

Fred is an industrial engineer with over 45 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and value management.

For over 15 years, Fred has facilitated value engineering and process improvement studies. He leads training for government and industrial clients.

Fred has demonstrated experience in facilitating groups through intense problem-solving workshops. His projects include facility upgrades and process improvements for the chemical and aerospace industries, environmental restoration and waste management project design, transportation facilities and management processes.

Brad assists our clients in making transformational changes that move their projects forward and help them obtain their goals.

Brad has over 20 years’ experience in planning, coordinating and executing successful organizational improvement programs.

Brad has a Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) from Pepperdine University.

Jeff has over 15 years of experience in design and construction, product and service innovation, strategic investments and cash flow optimization.

He has special expertise in facilitating planning level studies that help to build solid planning, design and strategy.

His background includes working as a consultant, facilitator and value specialist helping organizations manage and improve the value of their projects and operations.

Joby is a Construction and Project Management consultant with over 25 years of experience specializing in large infrastructure projects.

He has extensive experience in the management of crews, execution of large projects and has proficiency in reading plans, project bidding and field communication with engineers.

Before joining VMS, Joby held a variety of positions ranging from project controls analyst to project manager to construction superintendent.

Director of Project Controls

Jodie oversees project coordination and contract management for the VMS Project Controls team.

She serves as the primary contract management interface for the VMS Project Controls group supporting King County, Seattle Public Utilities, NAVFAC and others.

Jodie brings over ten years of professional experience in project management and business controls.

Jodie Puzio
Program Manager

Lisa’s work experience includes scheduling and reporting, value analysis, portfolio development, software implementation and risk analysis.

She has supported projects in industries such as renewable energy, USACE Military programs, transit construction, public infrastructure and hospitality.

At VMS, Lisa focuses on supporting the schedule as well as the risk and project controls aspects of projects.

Antonia Nicols provides support and technical report editing for Value Engineering Studies, Value Analysis Studies, Function Analysis, Design Charrettes and Concept Development workshops.

She also collaborates on Organizational Effectiveness initiatives for VMS clients.

Antonia brings over eight years of consulting and organizational development experience in large-scale technology and design projects.

Giuseppe’s 15 years of experience includes building high-performing teams, leadership development, organization design, strategic planning, sustainability and change management.

Giuseppe has a Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.

Ashley assists in managing workshops and organizational effectiveness studies.

She supports VMS studies with several years of experience in facilitation,  leadership development, organization assessment and effectiveness, team alignment, performance improvement, curriculum development, education and execution.

Ashley has a Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) from Pepperdine University.

Dave is a Certified Cost Professional with over 40 years in the engineering industry.

Throughout his career Dave has developed a wide base of knowledge, including demonstrated experience in organization management, estimating methods, procedures development and technical estimating, review and validation support.

Dave is based in the Houston, Texas area.

Dave is a Value Management Associate with 20 years of experience managing multi-level improvement projects.

Dave is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence.

He is an active member of the American Society of Quality (ASQ) and is currently serving as the Membership Chair on the Government Division Leadership Council.

Damon is a certified VMA with SAVE International.

Damon leads technical teams on value-based studies and guides clients through program and technology implementation efforts.

Damon previously worked as an analyst for a global consulting firm.

Kelly’s work experience includes administrative duties, fundraising, data analysis, and customer service positions.

Kelly assists in facilitating workshops and writing, formatting, compiling and editing reports in support of our Value Engineering and Project Controls services.

Kelly Martin

Rae is an Assistant Value Manager and Technical Editor with over 15 years of experience.

She assists in the coordination, planning, and facilitation of workshops/work sessions for VMS’s military and public agency clients.

Rae also writes, edits, formats and compiles value study reports.

Rae Pierre

Tyler’s qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, facilitation skills, and reporting experience help to support a broad category of studies.

His experience extends from planning and design, through monitoring and evaluation. Since joining VMS in 2018, Tyler has provided integral project controls support services for clients such as U.S. Department of State – Overseas Buildings Operations, Seattle Sound Transit and King County Wastewater Treatment Division.

Jessica is responsible for VMS’s Program/Project Coordination and Contract Management support needs.

She serves as the primary interaction for the VMS Operations group and the requestor of Project Controls staff support.

Her primary tasks as Program Manager include managing contracts and task orders, maintaining and updating VMS’s database and schedule and preparing fee proposals and study budgets.

Jessica Combs
Program Manager

Mariah is a VMA and fulfills a variety of roles such as technical editing, on-site study assistance, QA/QC and marketing support since she joined VMS in 2010.

Additionally, she has assisted on over 40 VE studies, Function Analysis Concept Design (FACD) workshops and Design Charrettes.

She has also edited hundreds of VE study reports and technical memoranda for projects in both public and private sectors.

Mariah Brink

Alison has been in the communications industry for nearly 15 years. Her experience includes spearheading outreach campaigns, managing marketing plans and ad buys, creating a variety of content for print and digital applications and working with the media.

At VMS, Alison directs internal and external outreach campaigns to impart VMS communications with clarity while expanding awareness of our management’s consulting expertise.

Angela ensures VMS is in compliance with our contracts and budgets.

She also manages the company’s insurance, timekeeping, multiple project databases, time sheet and expense report trainings and assists with internal reports.

Sandy joined VMS in 2002. Her experience in business management helps keep VMS running smoothly.

Barbara works with the VMS’s internal team which handles financial operations and reporting.

She assists in reviewing, categorizing and approving expense reports, reviewing VMS contracts for invoicing accuracy and appropriateness.

She also coordinates with the team to provide assistance and maintenance of the flow of VMS business and financial operations.
